About Us
Our nursery provides a stimulating and welcoming environment full of natural and open ended resources for your child to explore. Our environment is a homely feel which offers cosy corners and a calming atmosphere. We follow the Hygge approach which enhances the homely feel we offer. We also have a beautiful outdoor area to allow children to explore different resources and get creative. This includes a mud kitchen, water and sand, bikes , balance beams, and lots more!

We are just outside the heart of Whitby town, situated on the site of Stakesby Primary Academy. We often explore our local community by going on trips to Pannett Park and the Library.
​
We run 7:45-6 Monday to Friday 51 weeks a year and offer different sessions to work around your families needs.

Our Curriculum
​
We have created an ambitious, varied and engaging curriculum for our nursery. Our curriculum takes into consideration the needs of the children present, it places specific emphasis on developing children’s communication and language skills, and life skills, this is adapted to each individual child’s needs within our care. We have particular focus on developing children’s personal, social and emotional development, ensuring children learn how to form friendships, how to express their emotions, and how to become independent. Our curriculum provides outstanding education at such an early stage and we provide the highest quality teaching to prepare children for their next chapter in life at school.

Our Staff
Lydia
Lydia is our owner/ manager here at Little Rainbows. She is highly qualified and has over 12 years of experience within a childcare setting.
Leanne
Leanne is our Deputy Manager and works in our Daisy room. She is level 3 childcare qualified and has over 6 years experience within a childcare setting.
Rebecca
Rebecca is our Senior Nursery Practitioner and baby room leader, she works in the Bluebell room with the 0-18 months. Rebecca is level 3 childcare qualified with over 5 years experience.
Abbie
Abbie works in our Daisy Room. She is also level 3 childcare qualified. Abbie has 3 years Early Years experience.
Darcy
Darcy is level 3 qualified and works alongside Rebecca in our 0-18 month room. Darcy has over 3 years of childcare experience.
Sharon
Sharon works in our Daisy room helping to care for our older toddlers. She has a level 3 qualification and many years of Early Years experience.
Cerys
Cerys holds a level 3 qualification and works within our Sunflower room with our pre-schoolers. Cerys has just completed her Level 3 Apprentice with us.
Chloe
Chloe is working towards her level 2 qualification and works within our Daisy room.
Sarah
Sarah works within our Sunflower room, Sarah is our SEN 1:1 with a wealth of Special Educational Needs experience and knowledge.
Tyler
Tyler is our Nursery Assistant works alongside Rebecca and Darcy in our 0-18 month room.
Lucie
Lucie works in our Daisy room helping to care for our older toddlers. She has a level 3 qualification and many years of Early Years experience.
